Hold, from Whitburn Studio.

Every surfboard leaves waste behind. Fibreglass trimmed from rails, offcuts from laps, material that would usually go straight in the bin.

Hold, a Whitburn Studio innovation, takes that waste and turns it into surfboard fins made to be ridden, repaired and kept in use.

The fins use reclaimed surfboard glass and wool, combined with a high bio content epoxy. They are made to order and visually unique because the wool fibres never land in exactly the same way twice.

Waste fibres, built into fins.

The point is practical: keep useful waste material in circulation and make fins with enough strength, flex and character to stay in the water.

Useful waste stays useful when the fin still feels right in the water.

Feedback from the water.

I finally got the opportunity on the weekend to try out my new 8 inch Flex fin purchased from Whitburn Surfboards - I was down in Putsborough for a clean little 4ft wave, surfing a 7'4 mid. What a revelation this fin was - the difference from my previous fin in terms of an increase in speed and the ability to turn with ease was incredible, plus the board felt more stable than before as well. Thanks James, you're a total craftsman.
